（中央社華盛頓17日綜合外電報導）社群媒體長久以來一直是打擊伊斯蘭極端主義的關鍵戰場，而美國今年發現，臉書等網站的線上廣告而非貼文，就對付伊斯蘭國（IS）等團體的聖戰士宣傳而言，是經濟實惠的方式。
法新社報導，美國國務院中對付伊斯蘭極端分子的「軟實力」要角蘭普金（Michael Lumpkin）今天在華府防務一號峰會（Defense One Summit）上表示：「臉書（Facebook）對廣告客戶提供的詳細指標，有助政府團隊接觸目標群：可能在線上被聖戰士洗腦的民眾。」
他說：「使用臉書廣告，我可以在臉書內部運作、抓住觀眾。我可以選擇某國，我需要13到34歲年齡層、喜歡（IS領導人）巴格達迪（Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi）等同夥的用戶資料，且我能以訊息直接命中他們。」
他還說：「在世上某些地方，只要花點小錢就能鎖定這些目標群。」
他表示，社群媒體巨擘蒐集的詳細用戶資料，對於在社群媒體上識別他的目標群至關重要。
